The Indian Spices Board is an Indian government agency that promotes the marketing of Indian spices in addition to regulating the spice industry and encouraging its exportin was established in 1987, according to the merged scheme, following the merger of the former Spice Export Promotion Council and Cardamom Board (1968).In addition to producing and developing cardamom, it is in charge of promoting the export of 52 spices on the list of spices in the schedule of this Act. You are aware that in order to export Indian spices to other nations, manufacturers and merchants must be registered with the Spice Board—specifically, for the 52 spices that must be registered—under certain regulations. After completing the registration process, the Spice Board issues manufacturers and retailers a CRES (Certificate of Registration as an Exporter of Spices) or Certificate of Registration as an Exporter of Spices.

Why It’s Important Spices Board Certificates of Registration are required by all merchants and manufacturers who actively export spices to other countries. The Spices Board issues these certificates. The Spice Board Act of 1986 contains the following provisions:

No person may begin or continue the business of exporting any spice under and in accordance with a certificate after the effective date of this Act.   • If you do not have a Spices Board certificate, you will be punished:
  • If you are found guilty, you will face up to one year in prison, as well as a fine of up to one thousand rupees. You will need the following documents to register with the Spice Board:
  • The required application form (Form-1) must be completed and submitted by you.
  • Self-attested copies of the IE (import-export) codes are an option. Attached is the authenticity certificate.
  • Payment for registration in the form of a crossed Demand Draft in support of “spice board.”
  • A self-certified copy of the partnership’s deed or, if applicable, its memorandum and articles of association.
  • Attached a copy of the Partnership deed or Memorandum and Articles of Association which is self-certified. Attached a copy of the Cturer-Exporter of Spices Partnership deed or Memorandum and Articles of Association.
  • A self-certified copy of the Partnership Deed or Memorandum and Articles of Association, whichever is applicable.
